Dr. Frank Richter is a Li-ion battery expert, educator, CEO of Greenectra, and Board Member of FME Battery. Through Greenectra, he helps companies and engineering teams strengthen battery knowledge, improve safety, and make better technical decisions across e-mobility, energy storage, and battery system development.
His work focuses on battery safety, thermal behavior, battery aging, e-mobility, energy storage, and practical battery education for professionals working across the battery value chain.
Dr. Richter holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, also known as NTNU, in Trondheim, Norway. In January 2024, he was appointed by the Board of Trustees of KMUTT as Adjunct Professional Fellow of the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, also known as JGSEE, in Bangkok, Thailand.
From complex science to practical battery expertise
Before specializing in Li-ion batteries, Dr. Richter worked in the field of nanotechnology. His path into battery chemistry shaped the way he teaches today: by connecting advanced scientific concepts to practical knowledge that engineers, technical teams, and decision-makers can actually use.
This approach is central to Greenectra’s training philosophy. Instead of presenting battery technology as abstract theory, Dr. Richter breaks down complex topics into clear explanations, real-world examples, and engineering-focused insights.
Through Greenectra and the BattXcel training programs, he helps professionals understand how Li-ion batteries behave in practice — from cell chemistry and thermal effects to safety risks, system design, performance degradation, and sustainability.
